Welcome and Why we're here
Hello everyone and welcome!
I decided to create a blog for a couple of different reasons. Last week I was diagnosed with Hashimotos Disease, so I started reading about the disease and treatment etc. As with most with hashimotos I had symptoms gradually getting worse and worse over the years and yet I couldn't get any Doctor to listen. Finally I found a doctor who runs a thyroid clinic that not only treats the thyroid deterioration but also tests extensively for foods, environmental, bacterias, parasites and so forth anything that can and does impact total body health and balance.
For 9 years I've been on 2 different antidepressant simultaneously, anti anxiety meds, sleeping meds. Treating the symptoms without the symptoms getting better. In some cases they got worse, days that I couldn't get out of bed because I had no energy, gumption anything.
So for the next three weeks as treatment starts I will be on a very restricted diets while we determine what is inflammatory and what is not. As test results come in they will adjust my supplements and add foods back into my diet.
I'm very excited about this program and I will be sharing my journey here so that anyone else with thyroid problems or feeling like there's something wrong with you but you can't put a finger on it and no doctor can tell you either.
Even if you just want to check in to see what recipes I'm posting many of them will be gluten, dairy, soy free, sugar, organic and some are Vegan. For the first three weeks the meal plans will be primarily fish with a little chicken and Lamb.
I want to see this become a place for us to have people to talk to, share successes, recipes or ideas to change recipes. Even if all you need to do is find a place to find a good ear after a bad day.
I will start posting meal plans and the co responding recipes on Monday!
Welcome to all of you and I hope together we can help each other through, treatment, symptoms, good days and bad days!
Thanks for checking us out!
